It’s the end of the month and you know what that means… time for another Bad Ass Vegan of the month. This month I bring you someone that is showing that vegan doesn’t mean small and weak. He has been vegan for almost 2 years now and doesn’t seem to be losing any mass at all. Sure he is vegan for his health but his real change came from his compassion for our fellow earthlings… the animals. I give you Jordan, Mr June 2016. make sure to follow @consciousmuscle
Name: Conscious Muscle
Where do you live and where are you from? South Florida
What do you do for a living/profession? I am Vegan fitness and nutrition coach.
What do you like to do for fun? For fun I love spending time with my little ones, thats always my number 1 go to. After that comes my second love, the gym! Eating out at yummy Vegan restaurants is a close second lol.
.How long have you been vegan? I’v been Vegan for rough 1 year 9 months
What made you become vegan? In terms of why I became Vegan this can be a very long and drawn out answer as the reasons are so many but i’ll do my best to keep it brief. There is the moral and ethical aspect of how our fellow earthlings are being treated and all that this statement encompasses and if you are Vegan you know all to well what I mean…it is unacceptable! It must stop, it will stop and we will make it stop! I am also Vegan for my health, I have two little girls that are my universe and I want a long life with an amazing quality of life to be able to enjoy with them and there is irrefutable proof and evidence that consuming a plant based diet is the way to achieve this. Lastly for the sustainability of our planet, it is the only model for us and our planet to survive and thrive together. Our current model of agriculture and state of eating can potentially be the end of us all.
How was your transition to the vegan lifestyle? The transition was easy especially after watching certain documentaries and putting a face on our “food” ….and I say food very loosely in that sentence. If you’ve seen Conspiracy, Earthlings or Forks over knives you understand where i’m coming from.
What is the funniest misconception(s) that you have heard about vegans? Funniest misconception about us Vegans is a toss up lol. 1. That we are protein deficient. 2.That we eat a diet of lettuce twigs and berries
What is your Favorite thing(s) about being a vegan? My favorite part about being Vegan is knowing that I am quite literally contributing to the betterment of this world in ALL aspects.
What do you think makes a Bad Ass Vegan? To me a Bad Ass Vegan is someone who is doing all they can to make a difference. Someone who is a walking billboard for Vegans and what we are all capable of in all arenas! Someone who shouts loud and proud and will not be silenced.
What is the best Vegan Restaurant you have ever had the pleasure of eating at? Im here in south Florida so its a tossup between Darbsters and Christopher’s kitchen.
What advice do you have for those that are thinking of transitioning to a vegan lifestyle? My advice is very simple, DO IT AND NEVER LOOK BACK. It will be one of the single best decisions you have ever made, you have my word and I mean that with all of my being.
Do you have a website to share with the BAV nation?
