Hey, everyone. John Lewis here. Today, we’re going to be talking about icing down after basketball. The reason why you want to ice down is so that you can prevent injury and get back on the court the next day. When icing down after basketball, it’s usually on your lower extremities, usually around the knee area, ankle area. Sometimes it’s on the upper half which it might be a shoulder or elbow. What you want to do is you want to ice the area for at least 15 minutes and elevate the actual area. You want to do this at least one to two times after the basketball and on days off you can do it three to four times when you are not playing at all.
