Where do you live and where are you from?  I live between New York City and Miami Beach. I’m from Fairfax, VA.

Age?  27

What do you do for a living/profession?  Model and kind lifestyle blogger (www.MyKindofLife.com)

What do you like to do for fun?  Travel with my husband, write inspiring articles, workout…do my jobs count?  Those are also fun…

How long have you been vegan?  5.5 years

Why did you become vegan?  I became vegan with my Mom; at the time, I was 22

Shower shot (suggested crop)How was your transition?   I have always been allergic to dairy, so my transition to full-veganism was really simple. It was helpful that I lived in a metropolis with access to a lot of diverse, fresh produce (when I started).  Now I find it really easy to travel all over the world and eat in restaurants where there are no “vegan” menus. I always ask the chef to whip something up that’s veggie friendly and I always get the meal that everyone wishes they ordered.

What is the funniest misconception(s) that you have heard about vegans?  We fart a lot! Ha! I think that’s about food combining or personal digestive issues, not being vegan. Also, I’ve heard vegans only eat steamed vegetables! Whoever thinks that should come home with me—I can’t remember the last time I ate steamed veggies.

What is your Favorite thing(s) about being a vegan?  It’s such a simple life. What I mean is, I never have to think about food, to some people’s surprise. I feel light, in that I don’t require fancy meals and flavors to satisfy my cravings. I also can tell that karma is serving me well the past 5 years. In fact, a kind lifestyle is really serving to everyone involved. I’ve been much more successful with business, I’ve conquered eating disorders and learned to love my body, all after I became a vegan, or kind-lifestyle proponent.
