How long have you been vegan? I became a vegetarian in January 2009, I started my transition into veganism about a year later.
Why did you become vegan? Eating meat just doesn’t make sense to me. I’m shocked, saddened, and disgusted by the entire idea of it. The fact that someone can sit down and ENJOY a meal that was the cause of so much suffering to another living being baffles me! I grew up in a culture where eating meat, and lots of it, was the norm, but the closer I got to animals, the more pets I adopted, it just hit me that the animals I was eating were no different than the ones I was caring for.
How was your transition? It was fun! It opened me up to a whole new world of cuisine I never knew existed. I educated myself on nutrition, a subject that up until then had bored me, and now fascinates me! I experimented a lot in the kitchen and was more adventurous when selecting restaurants to dine at. My friends & family members were also very supportive and even learned how to prepare wonderful vegan meals themselves!
What is the funniest misconception(s) that you have heard about vegans? That they only eat lettuce! lol
What is your Favorite thing(s) about being a vegan? So many things changed about my body once I became vegan! I had suffered from severe acne all my life and once I changed my eating habits, it completely cleared up! I love the fact that I can enjoy delicious food from all over the world knowing that no one had to be hurt in order for me to eat. And of course, the fact that I can stay slim and in shape almost effortlessly, simply by what I eat.
What do you think makes a Sexy Bad Ass Vegan? Someone who is just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside.
